[Surface Rt win 8.1] mounting sdcard to ntfs folder for libraries wont work now

So I had to restore my surface rt and so i stick my sdcard back in and proceed to set up a folder to mount the sdcard just like before but when ever i try to add it to my libraries (this instance my music) it now tells me its an external disc, getting annoying now, how the hell do i browse and play music now arrrgh.

 

Folder is setup as c:\SDcard

 

Any know why? Something to do with 8.1? I know they added an option into music app to add folders to scan but if you add an sdcard folder justs tells you it cant display it properly.

 

This is getting annoying now lol.

Mounting? Are you using the old VHD mounting trick? Because with 8.1 you should be able to simply add folders on the SD card to the appropriate Libraries. If that fails perhaps formatting as ExFAT will help?

Yeah seems i am doing the old trick.

 

 

Lol just tried adding to libraries straight from sdcard and it works, daaamn glad they decided to add this is finally.

You're welcome! Yeah, it was a pet peeve of mine with 8 and am glad they fixed it in 8.1. The limitation made no sense whatsoever.
