Remove Password in Powerpoint

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys

was not sure where the best place was to post this

We have a powerpoint that a team uses at work

one of the team members created it and added a password that is needed to modify it

This employee has now left

We need access to the powerpoint to change some of the wording in it

Do any of you know of a way to be able to remove the password so we can modify it again

Can you open the presentation at all? If you can, you could try to just copy the slides into a new unprotected presentation and make changes there.

Surely if it was for work the person wouldn't have used a hard cryptic password. Just try a simple brute force attack on it.

Yeah i think this is gonna be the only way to do it

Send me a pm with a link to the file, I have some software installed here at work that can probably remove or tell me the password.

And if you can't host it anywhere, let me know I have an internal site you can upload to via a web-page.

The only thing I can think of is to take screenshots of the slides and then photoshop them. But it could be too much of a hassle. So you may as well just re-create it from scratch.

Yeah no rush, you know where to find me. I'd recommend the software but it's forensic recovery high dollar stuff we use at work and requires a hardware dongle. Plus it's super expensive.
