Warface Xbox 360 - Now open beta for all Xbox Live Gold members

What, they couldn't work a "Y' in the title? I'm surprised they didn't have high-level meetings regarding an

emergency name change.

Would've been a stretch, but how bout "Warfyce"?

Finally got around to testing this. I know this is free to play and also in beta but oh my it's bad.

The controls feel heavy and sluggish. When you try and aim, it's not a smooth movement and it feels like your bobbing around no matter how much you tweak the sensitivity. Unless you hit several headshots, it takes quite a lot of bullets to drop someone.

Graphics seem really quite fuzzy and really unclear.

Generally overall a poor experience for me and I could only stand a few rounds of it and as I said I know it's a beta and free to play but I don't think it's something I will play in the future.

How old would you say the code is on the version your playing?

My key just came through. How buggy was it on pc?

It's the first game I've ever tried I can't actually get to run at all. The launcher starts with a black screen and logo, then just turns all white and stays that way.

More than likely fairly old and in which most of my issues will be sorted out but I don't think it would be enough for me to get it again and retry it. :)

I think you pretty much summed it up, just another generic FPS that happens to look like its a PS2 game in need of some serious anti aliasing.

For free i guess you could play it for a bit and be happy if you wanted a new game, however tbh it's not something ever see myself playing and enjoying.

  • 4 weeks later...

I don't even remember singing up for the beta to this game.

Not sure, if I'll even bother to try it. TitanFall and inFamous will keep me rather busy.

I'm gonna have to youtube this game and see if it's worth my trying out at this current moment in time...

Warface being pulled from Xbox Marketplace come February

Tuesday, 2nd December 2014 20:04 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Warface, the free-to-play shooter Crytek launched on Xbox 360 back in April, will no longer be playable on the console come February.

The announcement was posted on the game?s Facebook page, and new players are no longer being accepted on the Xbox 360 version.

Those who are playing the shooter on 360 have until February 1 to enjoy what time is left, but in-game currency is no longer available for purchase.

?In the run up to February 1 next year, we?ll be gradually winding down Warface service on Xbox 360,? reads the post. ?Existing players will still be able to play the game and use any content they have already acquired until the game closure date.

However, effective today, no new players will be able to join and current players will no longer be able to purchase additional Warface Kredits.

?Players can spend any existing Kredits they have within the game until it closes on February 1. To all our Xbox 360 players, thank you for choosing to spend your time playing Warface.?

Crytek said it hopes 360 players will join the ?vibrant community enjoying regular new content? via the PC version which was release a few months prior to the console version.

Crytek Pins Blame For Warface Xbox 360 Cancelation On Microsoft

by Mike Futter on December 04, 2014 at 11:55 AM

Following Tuesday's announcement that Crytek will end Warface on Xbox 360 after less than a year, we reached out to the developer for more information. In response, a company representative told us that the decision to cease work on the game came from Microsoft.

?With Microsoft acting as publisher for Warface on Xbox 360, we are bound by their decision to phase out the game on their console,? a Crytek representative told us. ?We appreciate their efforts in supporting Warface up to this point, but, like the many players we're hearing from, are sad to see the game leave from Xbox 360.? We were also directed to a post on the Xbox Forums reiterating this point.

In a question-and-answer section of the Warface cancelation announcement, a community moderator shares the reasoning for the termination. ?We?re always evaluating our portfolio to ensure that the experiences available on Xbox suit the needs of our community,? he writes. ?Player demand and creative direction sometimes mandate that we shift our focus onto other games and opportunities.

When reached for comment, Microsoft representatives confirmed the statement on the Xbox Forums. Warface continues to operate on PC, with Crytek at the helm exclusively. The developer is encouraging Xbox 360 players to make their way to that platform.

?Although we're not in a position to continue Warface service on Xbox 360 for now, we are thinking of incentives we can offer to loyal players if they'd like to join the vibrant Warface community ? subscription free ? on PC,? Crytek says. ?We remain very excited about the future of Warface and its continued growth on other platforms.?
