riahc3 Posted February 9, 2014 Share Posted February 9, 2014 Hello, Ive thought about this some time because a thief can easly disable GPS and/or wifi/3G to render useless services like Find My iPhone and Andoid Device Manger. Is there a battery with a built in GPS tracker that you can locate your phone? It can be stolen or not. It requires that the phone have GPS (for location) and some kind of data transmission (wifi/3G/etc) to issue commands such as ring/lock/erase. What Im asking is not only OS dependent but you would install software on our PC only to track (essentially) the battery. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Arachno 1D Posted February 10, 2014 Share Posted February 10, 2014 If you consider the size of a tracking device you might attach to surveil a vehicle then its not likely to fit inside the battery compartment of a phone and would still require access to either the sim or a wifi connection as well as gps.......However I did read of a device that certain services are reputed to use on targeted mobiles that intercepts communications in a similar fashion to dual sim technology below.This would of course require the same sim to be used once stolen.
