Quickbooks vs Zoho Invoice

Question

So I'm trying to figure out if Quickbooks is worth it for my business or not. I'm the only employee for now but I can hire tomorrow if I wanted to. Right now I use a program called Zoho Invoice and I like it but tricky and appealing marketing from Quickbooks keeps calling my name. Is Quickbooks worth it? Or should I stick with Zoho?

Any help is appreciated!

My vote goes to Quickbooks.  Every accountant and bookkeeper on Earth will know how to help you if things ever go all pear shaped.

Should I sign up for online? Or should I just buy the program flat out? Online comes to $480 a year vs $139 for Amazon. I don't understand the benefit of online...

The benefit to online is that it automatically updates and it integrates better with your online banking.

The benefit to physical media is that you don't have to give QuickBooks your password to your bank account.

Which is best for you is a matter of taste to a large degree.

I used Quickbooks for my business, it was really good because it can do so much more than just create invoices, it can keep track of employees and also inventory, depending on what type of business you have. I was also a one man show in IT consulting and Technical support, Quickbooks did help what was needed including a customer database, which was more important than anything. The only thing about Quickbooks was that the pricing is high. I also suggest online version, it maybe less, I had a standalone and updates were common.

I have since closed my business, too many long hours and not earnings enough to show for it, I went back to working for somebody else.

Hello there,

My name is Reshma and I?m part of the Zoho Books and Zoho Invoice team. We?ll be sorry to see you go especially when Zoho Invoice just got a new look and some really cool new features like Client Portal among others.

Just curious, if you are looking to move to an accounting software, why not try Zoho Books? It?s a complete double-entry accounting software and you also enjoy the features of Zoho Invoice in it. It?s so simple, you won?t require any training and yes you can invite your accountant to try it out as well. I?ll probably suggest you to try the 14-Day free trial. If you need any help, we are aways reachable at support@zohobooks.com

Regards,

Reshma
