Just Found A Toad In The Garden

Yes, but I didnt lick it though(too early in the day, saving it for later...j/k),

 

I was turning over the organic compost heap, and nearly got it with the fork, lucky hit, just saw it in time.

 

What's strange is that there are no ponds, or streams for at least half a mile away, and its all urban development in between, So it looks like an adult, how could it have got there?, and tell me which unexpected strange creatures have you encountered in your garden?

Toads/frogs are good biological indicators... eg. it means pollution/contamination is NOT that bad around where you live.

I found a Cane Toad in my garden once, killed it good

Just saw a pretty huge Woodpecker swoop in our yard over the weekend. That's about it  :)

 

Oh and I did find a dead frog in the corner of our garage while cleaning :p

I think frogs are the ones who prefer water. toads like to live on land and dry environments.

Toads don't really like wet environments. Had 2 in my garden don't know where they came from but i found one dead, it got trapped underneath the bin :(

Ah, didnt realise that, yup they upset the ecology, like mink here in scotland. killem!
