Found this 1997 powerhouse

what if I told you it ran Windows FLP? and actually did stuff like web browsing and Word Processing?

It won't change anything. The PC you have isn't anything special. If it were a DEC Alpha machine it might be worth a bit, but a bog standard x86 PC? No.

It's the sort of thing that WILL be of interest, and probably worth a modest sum...in another 15 years or so. Then it'll be truly rare and old. If it's still, by some miracle, functional then all the better. What are the specs? Guessing it's original pentium?

You can easily get 40 or 50 bucks for a working NES for example. The games can get $10-40 if they're in good nick too. 10-15 years ago you couldn't give them away.

I hope that's the case. I have a ton of mid-late 90s hardware laying around. Maybe I should hang on to them for a while. :P

anyone know how much this could be worth? or anything noteworthy about it?

If we were in the early to mid 2000's, I'd tell you that that could be a decent FTP/file server.

Since we are in 2014 now, its greatest value is the sentiment (sentimental value) that you may have towards this pile of plastic and transistors.

I used the parallel port on my old 300mhz PC from 1998 to write to the nand on an Xbox 360, it supported SPP mode which was a requirement. As it was the family's first ever computer i've always held on to it. It's had random uses over the years in regards to legacy hardware.

Hmm alright well thanks lol i'll probably install a Network card and make it a cheap seed box

Probably not worth the power it would use it all honesty. You would have a better seedbox experience with a Raspberry Pi... it would pay for its self just with the low power usage.
