Do ads in free apps use a lot of bandwidth ?

Recommended Posts

Like do the ads still use bandwith when in the app but you don't see them ? I am mainly talking about MX Player. I know when you play a video the ads don't show only when you pause or in folder directory when choosing a video. May be one other time but can't remember.

Is there anyway to find out?

I am worried they will use to much of my 4G wireless internet plan.

No, they don't use a lot of bandwidth. Switch to Wi-Fi if you can, or turn off 4G data when you're in free apps. You can monitor data usage in the settings menu (I think this was a feature starting on Android 4.0 ICS)

No, they dont use much.  Like what was mentioned, use WiFi if/when available and also make sure apps are closed and not running in the background.  If you are up to rooting your phone, you can block ads all together and never have to worry about them again.
