max22
I can't decide on what new one I want. Anyone have any suggests or good stories on which one gives the closest shave please? Thanks. David Martin 1 Share

wrack
Nothing beats a proper razor, that being said, I use Panasonic and I am happy with it. Dick Montage 1 Share

Anibal P
None, in reality they all blow chunks, unless you just don't grow real hair on your face Or you can do the manly thing and grow a beard Dick Montage and John S. 2 Share

ZakO
The Braun series 5 is probably the best I've tried, and you can use it dry/wet which is sometimes helpful. It doesn't shave as close as traditional wet shaving, but after years of wet shaving (both with standard razors and straight / cut throat razors) I prefer the convenience of an electric shaver. max22
Well I decided on a Philips Norelco SensoTouch 3D Electric Razor 1280X/42 http://www.drugstore.com/philips-norelco-sensotouch-3d-electric-razor-1280x42/qxp306003?catid=183776 I hope it is good. Otherwise I have a good return policy. From what I read online it gives a very close shave quickly. It is easy to clean too. I use to have a Braun a long while ago but it broke and I didn't really like it. To difficult to clean.
John S. Veteran Posted February 14, 2014 Veteran Share Posted February 14, 2014 I've tried both types and dislike them for several reasons. You'll never get as close a shave as with a razor. It actually takes longer than with a razor, or you hurry and end up with random uneven stray hairs. It will eventually bite you: the screen will tear, the battery will get weak and it will eat your face. Order_66 1 Share
T3X4S
I hate facial hair. Can't stand it. agreed, and to say none work at all - you might want to stop buying the $10.00 ones.... Norelco SensoTouch 3D - fast & smooth - $220.00 Growing a beard does not make one manly - it makes one lazy & unkempt.

I use to have a Braun a long while ago but it broke and I didn't really like it. To difficult to clean. I had a Norelco for a long time, but it finally totally died. Loved it though. Luckily, for me, I can't grow a real beard, which is a fact I REALLY love as I totally hate having to shave anyway! Even at 55 years old, I can still go almost 2 weeks without looking to much like a bum!! I remember one time in basic training for the Army, a drill sergeant got all in my face and tried to make me shave 1 lousy little piece of peach fuzz on my chin. He got totally p***ed because he couldn't get it off as it was to soft and just slid under the blade!! Whole squad wound up doing push ups for giggling under their breath at him!! I'll never forget that one!! :) He's Dead Jim and xrobwx71 2 Share

123456789A
Norelcos are good because you can overclock them a bit. Just be careful when doing that. You can also put in some aftermarket blades, but again be careful with that. xrobwx71 and +Raze 2 Share
techbeck
Tried electric shavers for years. My face always felt sore after...razor burn. Switched to a normal razor and much better. I normally shave before my shower since the soap/shampoo helps make my face feel better after. I cannot shave everyday tho or else it irritates my skin to much. Plus, I hate shaving Growing a beard does not make one manly - it makes one lazy & unkempt. haha, funny. This was a joke, right? Oh, and just FYI..there are clubs and places dedicated to beards. Little crazy, I know. Also, companies like Norelco, Braun, and Whal pay guys with great beards to show up places and support their product. And a lot of those guy, I dare anyone to call them anything but manly and lazy/unkempt. Like saying women are not attractive for growing their hair long and they look unkempt. If guys didnt style/trim their beard and let it grow all crazy, like some do, then I would agree with you.
Dick Montage
Growing a beard does not make one manly - it makes one lazy & unkempt. You have know knowledge of the amount of work that goes into maintaining a beard then.
Dotdot
Im almost 30 and I can grow a Tom Selleck, and a Shaggy from Scooby Doo beard. But the flanks (sides) I get nothing but little bits of bum fluff.Does my nut in as Id quite like to go the full Grizzly Adams, but I fear my blondness (im as blonde as you can be before Albino) or lack of testosterone is probably to blame. As far as shaving it off goes. Ive used razors for years and just this month bought a cheap ?20 electric razor. All I can say is... Im not impressed. Much shallower cut and takes 2-3 passes if not more to remove hairs. Will probably just go back to a wet shave, but its the agony of the shaving rash I get from it tho thats turned me to the electric recently.
