  1. 1. How many times have you hooked your console up to a computer monitor in the last 6 months?

    • I haven't in the last 6 months
    • Once
    • More than once
  2. 2. If you have, was it ever sitting at a desk in place of your computer?

I used to do this in college and before I got a TV. My monitor has a boatload of inputs. I also use the optical to my computer speakers.

Right now I have 2 cable boxes and one is hooked up to one of my monitors (sport triple monitors) since I don't have a 2nd TV in the house.

Yes to play through the story of GTA 5 in the middle of the night on my 360 :p

My monitor has HDMI and a soundbar below so the audio outputs right there with one cable

When my friend comes over to play, I hook his Xbox up to one of my monitors (out of 3) via HDMI. I have his sound come through my computer speakers. That way I get my big TV and my surround sound all to myself :P

I had to vote: not in the last 6 months, but my Wii is hooked up via a wii2hdmi at my computer desk under normal circumstances... I just haven't played it in the last 6 months so it isn't plugged in.

EDIT: in addition, if I ever get around to playing the PS3 that's sitting around here, I'll bring it up and hook it to the monitor.

I have 2x 24" on a desk. As for the second monitor, I'd say that 80% of the time it's hooked up to the PC, 20% to a console. It is always connected to both.

I have to use an external audio source when playing the console on the monitor. (Not a problem for me.)

I use my 5.1 receiver to switch between my laptop and games consoles (Xbox 360, PS3, Raspberry Pi) currently.

Since my PlayStation 2 though I've ran my console to my computer monitor on an alternate input (Dell ultrasharp, S-Video in).

Back in the day when the 360 first launched, I used to game through a 19" monitor which had a 16:10 res of 1440x900.

I picked my X1 up at work so I hooked it back up to my desk which has two Samsung 1080p monitors on it. Way prefer it through the big TV though.

I used to have the 360 and PS3 go through my PC monitor at one point.

Mainly because i wanted to play GT5 with my G25 and at my desk was the best spot for it.

It wasn't ideal and setting up the audio was pain in the backside.

I'm sure i had my Dreamcast setup to an old CRT at one point too.

I used to hook up my Xbox 360 to my computer monitor, but now I have it hooked up to my TV, since I needed space for Kinect.

I currently have my XB1, PS4 and PS3 hooked up to my 27 inch Ultrasharp. It's a 1440p monitor but consoles look ok on it.

Which 27" Ultrasharp is that? My friend has his hooked up the Dell Ultrasharp 27 PremierColor Monitor - U2713H which is the $1000 model.  He doesn't play his consoles much on it, mostly PC games at 1440P with dual GTX 680's.

Do either consoles output 1440p?  If they do not, it's going to look a little off on that.

I've never  hooked up my consoles to any of my three 24" Ultrasharps.  I'd imagine they'd look a tiny bit off due to being 1920x1200 and not 1080p

The U2711, games look fine on it honestly. I sit about 2 feet away from the screen and I'm happy. I think it looks a little sharper on a TV but I'm still satisfied with the picture quality. The interface stays in 1080 however, no option for higher res.
