Best way to test throughput on CentOS

Recommended Posts

I just got a ISCSI raid and have it hooked up to my centos server. I plan on running iperf to do a network throughput test of the single ports, and the LACP setup. But, how would i test throughput of the iscsi raid? I have always worked with fibre channel because of work and because fibre channel is more reliable then iscsi for what we do. But, for home use and the price of this raid, I COULDNT SAY NO.

This will not be a backup, this will be to hold movies, music and etc for the entire house for 6 people, most of it will be me anyway. All the important stuff gets backed up 2-3 times locally and then taken off site (to work). So please dont lecture me about that, I know how to properly backup and that a RAID isnt backup, its just redundancy.

So, what is the best way to test this thing?
