Anders Breivik, the 35-year-old right-wing extremist who is serving a 21-year sentence for killing 77 people in a 2011 rampage, is threatening to go on a hunger strike to protest what he calls the "torture"-like conditions that he's endured during his confinement. Among his demands: an upgrade from his current PlayStation 2 to a PlayStation 3 "with access to more adult games that I get to choose myself."

Yes, seriously.

In a copy of a November complaint to prison authorities sent to AFP, Breivik, who is held separately from other prisoners for his protection, complained that his entertainment choices are being limited differently than other inmates.

"Other inmates have access to adult games while I only have the right to play less interesting kids games," Breivik writes. "One example is Rayman Revolution, a game aimed at three-year-olds."

In his 2012 trial, Breivik famously said he had "trained" for his attacks using games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, though he also practiced frequently at a target range. He also admitted to an obsession with World of Warcraft in his testimony but referred to it as a hobby that had nothing to do with the attack.

Breivik's other demands include a more comfortable chair, better conditions during a daily walk, a more generous weekly allowance, and better access to communication with the outside world.

What? Murder 77 people and then go play video games and force tax payers to pay for it? He should be locked in an empty cell and the key thrown away.

It baffles me that any inmates get access to video games not to mention one convicted of killing 77 people.

He should be grateful that he gets to play video games at all... Anyway, the guy is nuts, if that hasn't been clear since 2011 then here's yet more proof.

Don't know why people are suddenly bloodthirsty out for a pound of flesh.

"Let him starve" What a joke.

Norway has one of the lowest recidivism rates in the world; Clearly they're doing something right.

Yeah no one wants to return to prison if they have to use a PlayStation 2, oh the cruelty!      :)

Are you 100% sure he'll be in enough pain?  Maybe we could use you to make sure.  No sense in wasting a feeding tube and the "food" if we don't get it just right.   :)

How about, chain him up, rip all his finger nails and toe nails out. Cut his knee caps and put salt in them...  :shifty:

He wants to play games. How about pin the tail on the jack ass. I'll blind fold myself and where ever I stick him with a knife is where the tail gets pinned..

force tax payers to pay for it

which is my main complain about govt funded prison system.

law abiding citizens are penalized to pay for law-breaking/dangerous criminals' welfare.

Only 21 years for killing 77 people? I would have thought murder would be good for at least 4 months per person you kill...

I'd be a bit more sympathetic with him if he hadn't claimed that he used video games to train for his massacre. Given that, his request is disgusting.

He basically got away with it. This isn't punishment.

Seriously?  This ###### killed 77 people and he only has a 21-year sentence?  Are you kidding me?  He should be locked in solitary and never see daylight for the rest of his life.  He doesn't like he PS2?!  He shouldn't even have a PS2.  They should bust it up in front of him and definitely not give him a PS3.  I don't know what's worse: that he's being pampered in prison or that he will one day get out and be free to slaughter more.

I seem to remember a similar story about a notorious UK murderer making the same demands a few years ago. If it were up to me they wouldn't have anything but blank walls to look at (Y)

The UK banned 18-rated games in our prisons a few years ago (Y)

Guys, thread is starting to derail, nevermind what you would like done to him, the key here is that a total animal wants better rights or he'll go on hunger strike,

I said well in that case, let him starve, it's his choice to eat or not.

Quite a few people out there would like to see him suffer, (families of his victims etc...) but that's not what this thread's about, :)

If I remember rightly, that's the maximum he could get.
