LG G2

Recommended Posts

Hope it didn't have custom recovery. Those who updated OTA with custom recovery had their phones screwed up. Then there is a complicated process on XDA forums LG G2 troubleshooting section on how to get it working again.

Good luck.

This is what I got I think.

It failed though. Is that bad ? My phone is rooted.

You should be able to turn off the service using this app.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice

Open it

Go to System Apps

Find Google Services Framework and tap it

Uncheck "SystemUpdateService"

Restart your device.

Of course, applying a diff ROM will turn it off as well.

If it failed, then no changes were made. I wouldnt worry about it.

Does this disable automatic app updates too ?

I hope not.

why are you worried   about this  cause it could be  your Apps updating from the google play store as well as  maby OTA updates that are being pushed  and if it is  OTA updates go in to settings about phone and under updates   or something check to see when the last OTA update was

some updates  like apps and such do this automatically.

  • 2 weeks later...

KitKat is out for T-Mobile variants.

It was such an easy install and my G2 is running even better than before

It was a prerequisite for installing Kit Kit.  If you go into your settings and choose check for updates you can now upgrade to it, as long as you are on a wifi connection as it's 700 megabytes.

As long as you didn't have exposed framework enabled it should install fine and you'll keep root.  since the prerequisite installed fine KK should too.
