chrisj1968
Ok, My wife and I are both using Toshiba laptops which the brick has an output of 19Volts. Question: does anyone know where I can get a cable to run to our laptops from the cigarette lighter? I have one of those adapters and it has a USB port on it. my guess is, the car outputs 12volts. should I be able to allow my wife to hook her laptop up to it? I understand there is a 7 volt difference. but should be be able to get by using her laptop when we take a road trip? what if she sets the usage settings to powersaver? TAZMINATOR
You will need something like this: http://www.amazon.com/BESTEK-inverter-adapter-charger-notebook/dp/B003Q54V88/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1392687613&sr=8-2 PNWDweller 1 Share
The Evil Overlord
Agreed, an inverter might be a simpler solution
PNWDweller
Inverters are good for this, I have one that I've used in the past for my laptop and it worked well. Provides some good power to it and also doubles as a power port in case you need to power another device in the future. :)
