apex2000
I am running Win 8.1 Ultimate and have two Bluetooth USB dongles. They are both Bluetooth v 2.0 and neither works at all. Which version dongle do I need in order for it to work with Win 8.1? Must it be v 4.0? Thanks for your help.
+Fahim S. MVC Posted February 19, 2014 MVC Share Posted February 19, 2014 I don't think the version of the Bluetooth standard is really a factor - I have a Bluetooth 2.0 dongle here that is working fine. What does matter is drivers. Is the dongle showing up in Device Manager at all? Also there is no such thing as Windows 8.1 Ultimate. apex2000 1 Share
apex2000
Sorry, my mistake. That should have been Enterprise! If I plug in either of the dongles, they show up in Device Manager, but when I try to add a a device, the little blue dots run across the page forever and nothing is found. +InsaneNutter MVC Posted February 19, 2014 MVC Share Posted February 19, 2014 Are you sure the device you are trying to add is setup to be discovered? apex2000 1 Share
apex2000
Are you sure the device you are trying to add is setup to be discovered? I am trying to discover a Samsung Bluetooth speaker system which is discoverable because I can discover it from my Galaxy Note3 phone.
djdanster
Yeah I had the same problem, the metro interface for bluetooth discovery is absolutely bollocks IMO. I used the "Add a Device" under the Devices and Printers window. apex2000 1 Share
