Windows RT Annoyances

Recommended Posts

As a Surface RT user, I have my share of complaints about the OS (aside from not running x86/64 programs). This is just a little list of things that bug me that should be entirely possible.

1. Disable app signing... (It would be nice to at least have the option to disable this, and have some ARM compiled desktop apps run)

2. Sticky Notes accessory is missing (one of my favorite accessories)

3. Outlook RT does not allow you to add a sender to junk (it's to save battery... but an option would be nice)

4. MS and Bing apps have ads (stock-like apps should not have ads... it just seems wrong)

5. Alarms app requires the surface to be on to work (don't expect your surface to wake you up)

6. Office RT automatically opens the keyboard (it becomes annoying when you are moving items around on the document)

7. A desktop media player would be nice (there is a desktop XPS viewer, calculator, and picture viewer included. why not Windows Media Player?)

8. Battery meter in notification center does not tell you how much time is left on battery. (it probably varies based on the system)

9. Why is the Bing news app over 1 GB? It's way too big.

10. Monitor your Windows store more... and remove scam apps (such as the fake VLC apps popping up)

Anything in (or not in) Windows RT that bugs anybody else?
