max22
Hello, Yes. How much battery life are we talking? Like say in hours or days ? Would this still be the case if I am not using 3G or 4G and just watching a local video file ?
riahc3
Hello, How much battery life are we talking? Like say in hours or days ?Hours. Network connectivity isn't the cause of battery life Would this still be the case if I am not using 3G or 4G and just watching a local video file ?Watching a local video file will kill your battery way faster than 3G
djdanster
Battery improvements can vary phone to phone. If you have Wifi at home, try turning off mobile data and using wifi for a day and see how much your battery improves.
max22
Watching a local video file will kill your battery way faster than 3G I know. I am trying to figure out if this app would help much in battery life https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.falsite.ggovernor&hl=en Even when watching local videos on my phone. Battery saving apps are usually pointless (much more if they are paid apps). What this does (related to 3G) that if you leave your phone off you and the screen goes black, it automatically turns off 3G. After a certain time set, it usually turns it on for a second (to check emails, WhatsApp, etc) and after it turns it right back off. Worst, some, if configured incorrectly, turn it off perm until you touch your phone to turn the screen on, causing a lot of miss emails.

TAZMINATOR
Hmm interesting. What if I don't use email on my phone ? If you change email sync to maybe 3 hours or longer... it will save battery... which means it check email every 3 hours. unless if you use 5 mins sync, it will waste your battery. checking email every 5 mins.. battery drains fast

TAZMINATOR
If you check email manually, no problem.. if email sync every 1 or 5 mins ... it waste battery... understand? You can turn email client/sync off if you want... it won't hurt.

TAZMINATOR
You talk about email client? If so, the email client itself is not doing anything to the battery... unless it's using the sync in the background.
max22
No talking about 3G Manager - Battery saver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.falsite.ggovernor&hl=en Would it help a lot with battery life ?
TAZMINATOR
Oh.. it is up to you... if it is not helping with the battery life, then delete it, otherwise keep it if it does. I don't have any apps like that on mine. max22 1 Share

riahc3
Hello, Hmm interesting. What if I don't use email on my phone ? I gave you email as a example... Facebook syncing, WhatsApp messages, etc. they are all affected by it.... Advice: Get a bigger battery for your phone. I got mine and it was worth it. krisu007
Me - Sony Xperia Z I think, the Stamina Mode works well, when battery is low. Also the Rest Mode, think it?s called Rest Mode. What I have noticed is, as mentioned before here: Back home the Mobile is on Wifi Mode, outdoors most time on 3G; so stamina lasts much longer back home :-) - with same workload
