[I.E. 10] Internet Explorer 10 problem.

Question

A few days ago I noticed when opening I.E. from WLM when checking in-box a white mark oblong shaped appearing on top of I.E. 10, see below.

Means cannot minmise, resize or close.

I can make it larger (window) if I click on white space, then white space disappears.

Any ideas how to sort this out.

I would use I.E. 11 before it's mentioned, but, admuncher has still to be updated to work with I.E.11.

I think I may have found the problem.

Due to I expect the first answer(s) I would get would be, disable add-ons and they re-enable each one, which is the best advice.

What I would had said.

So I did, the first suspect and it was classic shell v4.0.4.

I am 99% sure it is this software.

Anyone else (is now the question) have a problem with classic shell v4.0.4 doing the same?

Opening IE10 from WLM? do you mean Windows Live Messenger? Far as I know this is unsupported software.. So if you have any

Messenger addons those are unsupported as well

Try removing everything WLM upgrading to Skype and if possible also upgrading to IE11(if you're on Windows 7)

Yes it does do it form WLM (Windows Live Messenger).

I did try IE 11 and it does the same thing.

I adore WLM I can't stand skype.

I suppose it's something I need to live with, funnily it did start happening after the last essentials update.

I will have to look for any un-needed WLM add-ons.

Thanks :)

I also found it does it at yahoo, when I play pool.

Well when I check a profile.

So my next guess is java, so time for an investigation.

Well from thinking and disabling add-ons, I found out what was causing the problem.

It is aero.

Now I need to work out a way to repair aero.

Any ideas?

Repair Aero? What do you mean, you can't reinstall it. You can use the Universal Theme Patcher and install a different theme though.

He said using third party theme or more like Aero Classic etc theme might bypass this issue.

Although it could be your driver as well, can you show me screenshot of your About Internet Explorer so I can see whether its latest version or not.

Do you tried to reset IE settings? Also if not I suggest you file bug on Microsoft Connect Feedback at here:

Latest version 11 and 10 does same thing.

If browser is full it is fine, it's when half size, is the problem.

I decided today to run some tests and it is classic shell that is causing this problem.

So I will leave it at that.

I did report it to them, but the deleted my post.
