I'm in the U.S. so I don't really notice but I thought that was the case. Pretty much any new non-Indy release HAS to be regionally priced because of publisher agreements with retail stores that require boxed copies and digital copies to match prices. Now old games that are no longer on sale in stores (or the agreements have expired) or indy games that don't have publishers can charge whatever they want and that makes up the vast majority of their catalog so that's where the single pricing is involved. I don't understand the motivation. :| It's not as odd as it sounds. Speaking with his wallet is about the only real way he has to get his message across about the change. I don't understand the motivation. :| I vote with my wallet in a similar way actually so I totally understand it. Not about regional pricing specifically because, being from the U.S., that particular issue doesn't typically hit me but the concept is the same. I'm just not sure about this being "the first game pushing regional pricing" because I was under the (incorrect???) impression that Witcher 2 had it as well. Yes, I gather that it's about speaking with your wallet, but I don't see what's so unfair about regional pricing. Pretty much everything is priced differently depending on region (and country, and often from city to city). It's not because something is sold over the internet that local regulations do not apply. It was, but this they fought a case over that with the developer and lost. This one however is from the new GOG, the one that showed fair prices under the bus. I know the reason behind it, but that does not make me feel all rosy inside having to pay 35% more in Eastern Europe. For the same reason I bought games on GOG even if they were cheaper on Steam. Yes, I gather that it's about speaking with your wallet, but I don't see what's so unfair about regional pricing. Pretty much everything is priced differently depending on region (and country, and often from city to city). It's not because something is sold over the internet that local regulations do not apply. There is no regulation that says 1$=1?. This translates into higher prices than US price + 27% VAT that Hungary has (which is the highest in Europe) and VAT is not even the reason for these prices on digital goods.
