Doodle for the Autism Awareness Day

On April 2nd we celebrate the International Day for Autism Awareness. Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that manifests itself during the first three years of life. The rate of autism in all regions of the world is high and it has a tremendous impact on children, their families, communities and societies.

Throughout its history, the United Nations family has promoted the rights and well-being of the disabled, including children with developmental disabilities. In 2008, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities entered into force, reaffirming the fundamental principle of universal human rights for all.

The United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared 2 April as World Autism Awareness Day (A/RES/62/139) to highlight the need to help improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from the disorder so they can lead full and meaningful lives.

Due the importance of this day, thousands of people around the world are following the proposal from ??Autismo Diario Foundation? to have your organization make the 2nd of April as the special Doodle for the International Day of Autism Awareness.

Best Regards

an international campaign has been launched to ask Google to make a special autism-themed ?doodle? on April 2 for World Autism Awareness Day. ?Doodles? are the alternate designs of the Google logo that displayed on its homepage to mark worldwide events or special anniversaries. The aim of having a doodle for World Autism Awareness Day is to raise international public awareness of this day and of autism. To show support for having a Google doodle for World Autism Awareness Day, sign the petition.

The campaign to request a ?doodle? from Google is an initiative of Fundaci?n Autismo Diario (Autismo Diario Foundation).

I know petitions aren't tolerated much, but this is for a good cause?

Soon the official Google logo will be the one we see the least.

But, it is a good cause. Google might go for it.
