Does anyone know how Gamestop trade ins work and if other retailers like Best Buy have it? I'm wondering how much credit I could get towards a One with a black 360 and a PS3.

Gamestop right now has a get an additional 50% trade in credit towards the purchase of any new console, details here. so that is going to be your best bet if you use a retail store. So if the trade in value of your console is $50, you'll get an additional $25.
I just traded my 360 towards a WiiU last week, so I know with a few controllers you could get close to $100 trade in value. Truth is the 360 does not have much trade in worth these days at all, and the PS3 is not that much better. Combined you may get $200, possibly a little over, for both.

For the most part, there is no specific trade-in, they will give you store credit and you can use it. However there are times that Gamestop will have a trade-in deal where you get an extra 20% or sometimes $50 or $100 when trading in a system if you put the credit towards a Xbox One. You would need to check with the individual store to see what promotions are running.

you'll want to take both systems into Gamestop and have them scan them. that way, they'll give you an accurate quote. i've tried to do this over the phone, and they simply wont. it's really annoying.

That's odd, as the GameStop I talked to could not give me the exact quote for my console specifically, the guy I talked to on the phone told me the trade in value of all the different models and hard drive sizes over the phone no problems at all. He just said of course this all depends on your console working, etc, but he was cool with giving me an idea of what to expect.

Also looks like my numbers might be a bit off, if you have a newer 360, might get as much as 110 for it (thats before the 50% additional). I got that info from this page where they provide trade in values for systems and games.

So it looks like I might get $200 or a little more towards it? I have both consoles with 2 controllers each. Kinect for the 360 and the Eye for the ps3. Maybe I'l get slightly more. That's not bad at all and I'd for sure get the Titanfall edition. Anyone know if integration works with DirecTV yet?

A quick look at the forums the Direct TV boxes work just fine with the XB1.. most issues have to do with RF and IR but this can be changed in your STB settings

I went and reserved the Titanfall Edition. I'm going to bring my 360, PS3, and all my games and probably end up with half off I would think.

Good luck man. Best advice I can give with trading in stuff is just accept the fact the peripherals and games are hardly worth anything but they are useless without the console anyway. I think with the 50% additional credit you should probably break $250 hopefully. I wonder if they will give that to you for both consoles as well? If they do, you may even get close to $300. I would guess the Eye is worth around $4 trade in, and Kinect might be around $10.

And this is why I HATE Gamestop... they will turn around and sell it for $30 to $40..

Yeah he said my Kinect is worth $6 and I couldn't believe it. They'll for sure turn around and sell it for $30-40. Still though with the systems and games I should get a good chunk of my purchase price paid.

That's the reason that eBay is here... you can sell them on ebay for good amount...  if you are lucky enough.

I preordered the Titanfall edition of the One and am trying to get my 360, PS3, and all games ready to take in for trade. I can't seem to find the AV cables for either console. I use them with HDMI. Does that cancel out the ability to trade them in?

I traded in my PS3 to a ocal EB Games (Gamestop for your US folks) and they accepted it with the HDMI cable as I lost my AV cable aswell. I think it may just depend on where you go, perhaps give whoever you are trading in with a call and see what they accept?

Policies are so different across locations and retailers, hard to say. In most cases they want it as close to original as possible, i.e. both condition and parts. PS3 and 360 therefore would "need" the SD cables, but depending on where you go, they may overlook their absence, or just give you a little less in trade.

I called them and they said they would take them with an hdmi cable. I have everything packed up with all my games and should have a One Titanfall edition after work! I'll have to buy 1 more game too. What's a killer One game? I take it Forza 5 is not out yet. I like story driven fps's too.

Personally I wouldn't have made the call / mentioned it.

 

All you've done is given them a reason to offer you less. They most likely wouldn't have cared/noticed. Different story when it's an AC adapter etc, but video cables are cheap as chips to come by.

Well I traded everything in and they owed me $2 Lo. I redeemed my Titanfall code. How do I download it now? There's nothing apps and games.

What was the code for? DLC? It'll probably appear in game only.

 

When you redeem a code for a game or beta etc, they appear on the far right of Apps & Game list, slightly separate from the rest and darker than the other tiles.

It's a code for full game download of Titanfall. I redeemed it but it's not downloading and I don't see any option to download it.
