DocM
Looks like Tuesday June 24, my birthday :) , which would rotate the launch window start to about 4:30 PM Eastern. OG2 Mission 1 Update: June 22, 2014 Today's ORBCOMM OG2 Mission 1 launch attempt has been scrubbed to address a potential concern identified during pre-flight checks. The Falcon 9 vehicle and OG2 payload are in good condition, and engineering teams will take the extra time to ensure the highest possible level of mission assurance prior to flight. The rocket will remain vertical on the launch pad with the next available launch opportunity targeting Tuesday, June 24. Additional updates will be posted as schedules are confirmed. DocM
Crapola. Tuesday is off. The problemis a bad part (can't say what in public.) They replaced it but want to figure out why it failed. F9 is back in the barn. PS: not a SpaceX made part.
flyingskippy
Any connection to the pressurized cold helium system that caused the first scrub?
DocM
No. Nothing to do with the pressurization system. A vendor part that went wonky. They're targeting the first week of July because the range has 2 weeks of maintenance scheduled.
DocM
OG2 Mission 1 Update: June 23, 2014 SpaceX is taking a closer look at a potential issue identified while conducting pre-flight checkouts during yesterday's countdown. SpaceX will stand down Tuesday, June 24 while our engineering teams evaluate further, which will also allow the Range to move forward with previously scheduled maintenance. We are currently targeting the first week of July and will work with the Range to confirm the next available launch opportunities.
DocM
Out from the black at NASASpaceFlight.com. The problem that caused the scrub is a thrust vector actuator, a rocket engines steering mechanism, made by one of SpaceX's suppliers. They replaced it, but want to analyze why it failed to see if this was a one-off problem or something else. The specs on these things are something else. Serious, powerful hardware.
