Prevent Web Browsers from stealing focus

Recommended Posts

Hi all :)

This may be a bit of a long shot but thought I'd ask...

At work, once a batch job finishes processing, it spits the report out into a html file. This html file gets executed automatically and pops up in Internet Explorer, stealing the focus away from anything else that you are doing at the time. The workaround I have at the moment is to resize and position IE into an exclusive area of the screen in order to minimalize its disruptiveness but it still steals the focus away.

Is there a way to execute an html file that appears in any web browser, and make it flash orange in the taskbar or something. As in open the report but unfocus the web browser.

Cheers :)
