My primary tablet is the original Surface RT these days, which gets used for gaming, Facebook, reading & responding to forums, remote access/support using Teamviewer and RDP, looking up info on the movie I'm watching, or using it to watch the movie itself.

I also have 2 Android tablets. My Galaxy tab is mostly for checking Facebook and email and reading e-books on my lunch break, and my old Dell Streak 7 is basically a fancy alarm clock these days.

I have a Surface Pro, it replaced my desktop and everything I did on my desktop I do on my Surface Pro, I also have a Surface RT, it's handy out and about and general fun, I have a Sumsung 10.1", gave that to my wife to play wee games with with, otherwise it would be collecting dust. Jim

Nexus 7 2013, used for gaming, email, and forum posting when not on my desktop, bounce between the desktop, tablet and G2 for anything email, G+, and forum related, gaming is on the desktop or tablet, anything calendar related and messaging is done on the phone, lots of randomly grabbing a device and using it, all my youtube and netflix viewing is done on the desktop

Yes it seems confusing and random, but it works for me

  • Reading Magazine's, Ebooks, and Documents.
  • Web browsing
  • Watching video's on local storage and on YouTube.
  • Gmail and G+
  • Office stuff
  • Looking at maps and getting directions.
  • Google Now
  • Android development app testing using ADB
  • Playing games
  • Chatting with friends

I do all serious content creation on my desktop PC and 26 inch monitor. Although it's possible to do some on Android as well if you plug/dock it into a screen.

Since we are talking about tablets, can anyone let me know any decent 8-10 inch tablets that run win 8.1  (NOT RT!!!)   and are cheaper then surface??

Reading books, giving courses (it's my keynote and video machine), gaming on breaks, carrying my work portfolio. Quite an useful and light machine.

Android 2.2:  Collecting dust.

Blackberry Playbook:  Collecting dust.

Android 4.1:  Listening to music late at night in bed with headphones on, at most once a week.  Constantly downloading updates, it seems, every freakin' time I happen to turn it on.

Surface RT:  Reading the news, reading PDFs, general browsing, playing some simple games, remoting into other computers

Surface Pro:  My daily workstation replacement; hooked up to a USB dock and running 3 monitors.

HP Slate 7 2800 for me.

Depends on what I am doing.   If I am doing my school work, then for the e-books I can get for the course.

During off time - lately been playing casino games on it, with an occasional regular game.   Then, of course web browsing.  But the major thing I do use it for is when I want to test my site against mobile browsing to ensure scalability or compatibility with tablets. :)

Dell Venue 11 Pro, this replaced an Acer W500 (upgraded SSD, Win8.1).

For me it is a consumption device and sometimes, used for light editing of Office docs. My gaming on this is light, by that I mean Mahjong Tiles, Angry Birds and other games like that. Sometimes I use it for the 2nd screen function of Battlefield 4.

Take a look at the Dell Venue 11 Pro, I'm very happy with the one I have. It was cheaper than the Surface Pro 2.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 (running KitKat 4.4.2)

Mainly use it for reading (books/magazines etc), checking email, watching videos (movies/youtube etc), surfing the web and the occasional casual game and eBay amongst other things. I predominantly use it on the train/bus while travelling to and from work or just when I'm out. I use it sometimes at home when can't be bothered turning on the PC :P

Nexus 7 running 4.4.2 KitKat

TV/Movie watching when I'm doing overnight site security in places I can't get a wifi signal (which is quite often)

Email and incident reports, FB, youtube, light gaming when I do have a wifi signal

I have an iPad Mini (Gen 1) and use it for browsing, socializing, gaming (rarely), and watching movies/TV shows.

I also just bought a Dell Venue Pro 8 which I rarely use, but I bought it instead of a laptop. I use a Logitech Ultra Thin mouse and when i do use it which is for work, I just set the iPad up for videos.

Surface Pro 1... almost everything in the poll, except for collecting dust. But it's mainly used for Neowin, Facebook, and Visual Studio.

It's the only computer I use.
