manifesto Posted March 9, 2014 Share Posted March 9, 2014 My AOC TV just died today as you can see on the attached picture and unfortunately I can't afford on buying a new one so I'm willing to repair it. I did some research on google about this issue and I have read somewhere that the t-con board is faulty. Could anyone confirm if it's that the issue because I have found a used board on ebay for only 37 pounds and I would like some second opinions before buying it. Mystic Mungis Posted March 9, 2014 Share Posted March 9, 2014 Yupp, looks like the T-Con board, although I'd wait for someone else's input as well as my knowledge about TV's is pretty limited. Have you checked to make sure that yours is removable? Sometimes they can be bonded to the screen which means you can't remove it. I hate to be one of those "for a little bit more" guys but, as BudMan said, if you could stretch a bit more then you'd be able to get a much better TV and at least you'd know that it would work where as you could spend the money only to find out that wasn't the problem or there's something more which is annoying at the best of times but especially when you're strapped for cash. The ribbon that connects the T-Con board is only taped in place so with heat and age the ribbon can move and come out slightly. If you are comfortable with opening it up you might want to take a look at seeing if you can find any loose cables inside the display itself.
