Anyone Having Trouble Accessing Steam?

Just bought the latest weekly Humble Bundle and when I went to add the keys to my Steam account it kept showing a Steam API error. Thought it might just be a problem with the site so set about installing Steam on my friends computer and creating an account for him but when it went to create his account it kept saying that it couldn't connect to the Steam servers. Then I tried to log into the website but it just kept saying that I had the incorrect login and I know that it's correct. I'm not home yet to see if I can actually use Steam so I was just wondering if anyone else was having any problems?

Yeah it's down. Not just Steam but the community portion and Steam powered user forums (not discussions) as well.

 

Edit: Well Spuf was down but it's back up again. Steam and the Steam community is still down.

I know D: I have about 200 installed and who knows how many not installed, I would cry if I lost them all :(

Have you tired offline mode yet? should work for most offline game and some online games that don't have steam integration.

 

Also, http://steamstat.us/ is handy for checking when its up again.

That link says normal, but I can't login.  It says I'm not connected to The Internets, which is obviously wrong.

Yupp, just got home there, turned my monitor on and seen that Steam was in offline mode, went to online mode and it logged in fine so fingers crossed there will be no more disruptions and everyone can start to log in as usual!

WTF that was weird I just hooked my 2nd monitor back up, which I don't use for gaming, and after disabling it again, Steam is ok now.  Maybe it saw a changed hardware config?

they were getting ddosed apparently, the store page and community page was down.

 

i thought they were giving away another game, like last time when it went down during the sales!

Hmm I'll wait for more details before I believe it, it took a while before the store went down and then after the services were restored it looks like the users DOS'd it trying to get on.

 

I could be wrong but I fear we were our own worst enemy :P

It seems Steam has been having problems for a few days... The severs have been offline a few times this week and last week. Really annoying as I've just bought Thief.

 

Also it's not just the UK, as friends of mine from around the world have been having similar issues logging onto Steam.

Yup that sums me up today :P I'm just passing time till Titanfall unlocks on Origin :D
