What files should be on a seperate drive?

Recommended Posts

I am considering on adding a 32GB SSD to my drive list, which already has a 256GB SSD and 2TB hybrid HDD for my next build. I was thinking about adding this because I've heard that putting the pagefile on another drive other than Windows is beneficial to performance. What other files should be put on another drive?

And is it worth doing? Will I see any performance gains if I buy a $38.79 SSD and put the suggested files (pagefile, etc) on there?

It was sort of true in the HDD only era.

Have you installed your OS on that 256 GB SSD? If yes, then it would make almost zero difference. Keep your money.

I have no idea if you can move prefetch. Usually most SSD users just disable this thing.

I just looked it up. You can't

Yes, my OS and some games are on the 256GB SSD. I won't buy the 32GB drive then.
