[Update] Ex-Westboro Baptist Church Leader Fred Phelps is Dead

For every example you care to cite, I can cite another that disproves.  You are reacting solely to hyperbole and press agenda.

Being able to cite those that disprove doesn't change the fact that there are a good number of examples of anti-gay leaders who have been caught red handed. Hence why I said some and not all. So no that's not a hyperbole or some press agenda.

I'm wondering what do you consider a "good number"?  5 or 6?

Maybe double or triple that. These people were leaders in some form, either religious or political, not avg daily joe blow, no pun intended.

Edit: here is a list of 16 that fit the type of people Im referring to. John Geoghan and Paul Crouch are not on the list but I wouldn't doubt with some digging you could prob add to that list as well.

Ok why don't we just make it easy and round it up to say 50 people in the last 50 years who were openly against homosexuality in the press and public were actually closeted homosexuals themselves.

How many billions of people are on this earth again? and how many billions in the past 50 years? and that is supposed to mean that most people who are against homosexuality are actually suffering from closeted homosexual feelings themselves?

Also, not all states in the US allow gay marriage, are the ones who are against it also closeted gays? are the vast majority of Americans closeted homosexuals?

And why did you throw in the "not avg daily joe blow, no pun intended"?

Is there something you are struggling with yourself?

I wonder if people will picket his funeral.

That would make them about as bad as all the stupid things the guy was promoting with his church. Probably best to ignore it instead.

We're not talking about everyone on the planet, Im referring to a specific group of people, those being the community leaders such as religious leaders and politicians. Of that group, there is a small trend that tend to be the most vocal outspoken who also tend to be closeted themselves.

You might want to try rereading what I wrote, at no point did I even attempt to claim "most", I specifically stated "some" and "some" is exactly what I pointed out. As for state issues on gay marriage and the vast majority of Americans, that's nothing more then a red herring. My point wasn't about states, but a select group of individuals. You deflecting does not negate the points I made.

Do I really need to explain that reference and why I said no pun intended? I have no issue with my sexuality, I have no problem being able to have a open discussion about homosexuality as a heterosexual. I do find it interesting how defensive you come across over simply pointing out basic hypocrisy of those that speak out against it. It's ok if you feel a connection to those people.

He's dead Jim ...

Fred Phelps Sr., a fire-and-brimstone preacher whose anti-gay picketing at military funerals inflamed the nation and drew international scorn but was protected by the U.S. Supreme Court as an exercise in free speech, died March 19 at a hospice in Topeka, Kan. He was 84.

His daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper confirmed his death to the Topeka Capital-Journal. The cause was not reported.

16 you say... Well that's surely enough to make ridiculous claims over...

What I stated is clearly not a claim, I backed it up with actual direct evidence. Again I stated "some" and "some" is exactly what I have shown. If you have an issue pointing out those examples of anti-gay closeted homosexuals who happen to religious and political leaders, that's on you and you alone.

I always found it odd how everyone hated this church yet there are plenty of others which have exactly the same bigoted messages. Perhaps because this bunch of clowns were more outspoken?

Nevertheless, perhaps with that deranged old kook gone we'll hear less about this ######-for-brains group of bigots. Onto the next lot of religious zealots!
