SQL Database to GIS Mapping

Question

Just wondering if any SQL Admins out there can help me pull up some addresses and Map it into ESRI ArcMap.

I got the Database Connection but with many tables, can't really figure out how to properly geocode the addresses and then layer them on the map.

Thanks :)

Im sure that Ive misunderstood you...

You want to get a address "123 Bob Street" from a SQL server and then map it onto something (in this case ESRI ArcMap)?

I know what he is trying to do.  he wants to get the data out of the sql db and then basically merge it into the arcmap sql db address list and then have arcmap do its job to put in points of interest or addresses onto itself.

I am not versed enough in sql to be able to do it.  I haven't played with ESRI in some time...Maybe 2010...

If you have ESRI support, they should be able to help you out with that request.

sc302 got that correct.

I have a SQL DB with address (14879) along with all the other details of the property.

I've linked SQL to ArcMAP via an OLE DB Connection (read only which is fine).

Now as mentioned, basically all I want to do is visually display address points on the GIS Map of the town and later on being able to display other details too say only properties that sold or pull data points from the DB such as "Neighborhoods" and overlay that information on the map using different colors for differ neighborhoods :).

I'm the resident "tech guy so I should know this stuff" but that's like asking a brain surgeon to do heart surgery because "(s)he's also a surgeon" :P

Thanks sc302, I've been going back and forth with a  ESRI tech person and waiting for a call but just figured i'd ask here as well.
