anyone going to wait and then get a cheap used console?

Recommended Posts

I got the money to buy one new but I only want the next halo game which isn't coming out for ages, + all the games i'm interested in are coming on the pc.

re-purchased a slim 360 recently and finally finished reach and started halo 4, aren't many franchises that do a decent campaign in each game..

I have no interest in live gold / multiplayer.

going to replay the whole series.

Primarily a PC gamer but meh, if it's cheap, why not. Probably pick up either a 360 or PS3 sooner or later, not sure which yet, will have to research what's worthwhile versus what I can't get on a PC, that and what's available homebrew wise.

I'm going to wait but I'm not going to buy used.  I'm going to game on my PC for 2014 it seems, and then in 2015 when more exclusives are out and I expect we'll already have one price cut, I'll look into getting one.

Personally,

I prefer not to buy any electronics used.

Yeah after last generation I certainly wouldn't be risking 2nd hand consoles.

I'd rather wait for a price cut with bundle to buy new.

Honestly unless you are dying to play Titanfall I totally think you are better off waiting as I'm sure they'll end up doing a Halo bundle later down the line.

I'll wait until the PS5 and Xbox Two are nearly out and then I'll buy a used PS4 or Xbox One and a ton of used games for extremely cheap. Like I did with my PS3. If I haven't played it, it's new to me. :D

I wouldn't buy one off ebay because of the return process and the dodgy sellers or an old style 360. I only buy off amazon now, better cover for dogy goods. my slim 360 arrived in perfect condition so i'm happy with that. got it hooked up to my laptops 2nd screen via hdmi with a splitter so i can switch between the two.

Halo 2 Anniversary is coming out this year for the X1, not sure if you'd be interested as it will be the same game with improved graphics. Halo 5 won't be released in 2014 but possibly 2015.

Titanfall is available on PC and will be available on Xbox 360 soon so I wouldn't suggest buying a $500 console just to play it on the X1.

I don't think you'd get much of a discount for a used next-gen console atm, maybe in a year or so. If your happy to hold out till then it may be worthwhile to wait because for the small price differences at the moment you might as well buy new imo.

Hell ya! I waited until the 360 was 4 years old, then picked one up on eBay for $42 with a bad DVD drive. Fixed it and still works today.

Then a few months ago I got a PlayStation still on 3.51 firmware with a bad blur-day drive (which I have since fixed via a replacement drive) for $99.

So will I ever get a Ps4 or Xbox One... Probably, but not until I can steal it off eBay.
