Headlight Replacement

Recommended Posts

I know this has to be dead easy, but I haven't found any clear answer online or by looking at the car.

I have seen where there are clips that hold them on on newer models but not this one.  And on mine at least, the only thing I have seen is the adjustment screws for height and angle. (Or maybe those are the ones to pull the lamp out).

Does anyone know how to replace the headlights on 1992 Olds Bravada?

Are you trying to replace a bulb or the actual headlight housing? Take a picture for us, will help to diagnose and give you proper advice :)

This would be the actual light bulb and assembly.

And as requested,  the picture:

When looking down at the light with the hood open, I can see where the connector snaps on in the back with no apparent bracket.

There should be two clips on the top of the headlight, that when pulled up allow the entire unit to seperate.

That may just be for new(er) than yours though (98)

  • 3 weeks later...

I figured it out today.  Will be getting the bulbs next week.  But it is different on the first gen models like mine:

(SUV) (Mine is white and looks exactly like the one pictured)

The front grill under the hood has several screws that you remove to expose the headlight mounts which are 4 screws each that hold the headlight with 2 for adjustment.   Since this is an older model, you have to buy the entire bulb unit and not the kinds that you use now which you insert now.

I agree with this BUT, these are the sealed lamp style.  Everything is enclosed in one:

I just have to pull the entire unit out and then put the new one in. :)
