Game Purchase Advice

PS4 is having a flash sale, and I got some credits left over from the $10 reward for spending $60 (and the other $4 that was just lingering) giving me $14.

Tomb Raider (already ruled this out since I own it on the 360)
Thief ($30). Is this game any good? Is it worth $30? Don't want to flush loot down the drain.
Thought about MG:GZ. But I refuse to pay $30 for a demo.
Stryder ($15). Looks fun

Stryder is supposed to be decent, a little slow/repetitive in some parts.

 

Thief fans didn't seem to enjoy the reboot that much, casual players didn't seem to mind it.

Personally none of those games interest me, I'd wait for the next flash sale.

I have to use the $10 credit by 3/31/2014 (always a catch :-p ) I would only be paying $16 for Thief

Or only $1 for Stryder.

Or nothing for Fez

Of the choices I would go with MG:GZ.  Although it's short if you just play through the storyline it is an open world and apparently there is a good few hours plus if you are prepared to look around an experiment.  Although I am biased as I love Metal Gear games.

I really enjoyed Strider.

If you like Metroidvania style games, then i highly recommend it.

 

Thief would be another good choice.

 

I wouldn't go MG:GZ - Way too expensive for a couple of hours.

Plus chances are, it is going to be bundled with Phantom Pain.

In order, I'd pick:

 

1. Fez
2. Stryder
3. MGS
4. Thief
5. TR (because it's an upgrade)

MGS and Thief are pretty evenly matched because of the price, but seeing as you have credit to use it negates that mostly.

With that mentality stick to the games you can only buy digitally then. They'll be cheap already (Fez PC keys are pretty worthless for example). But a physical copy of any of them would still net more $ even after a few years.

 

How much is Fez going for? Couldn't you buy 2 digital PSN games for $14? (Fez + a PS Mini or something). List of all the discounts on PSN right now

it's Strider, not Stryder. And get that, very nice action platformer, if you enjoyed stuff like Shadow Complex you will like this as well. Quite challenging, too, if you're into that.
