Kaspersky Anti-Virus stats

I've never let my AV license expire before and was staggered to find out it's lifetime performance. I had installed a 3 user license over 7 machines (some of which had been retired) and I'm not sure if the figures are accumulated over all the machines, still staggering, 1.5 billion page views!!

 

 

What do you folks think, a computational error?

I shudder to think how many pages I visit across the web in a year.

What is considered a page?  every single css, every script, etc..?

 

So lets look at neowin front page for example

 

 

I show 68 requests total.  So every single time you hit the front page -- guessing they scanned 68 pages ;)

 

So I wouldn't think that number is all that high for a year of surfing - without understanding what they count its hard to say.  The fact that you had 69 trojan programs would concern me more -- WTF are you executing on your machine??

I'm more concerned about the 69 Trojans. Are those false positives, Ones they stopped from coming in or actual Trojans they found on your system?

How on earth did you have 69 trojans?!

 

As for the huge number remember that is not an statistics page but a sales page. It is designed to make you buy again. Looks like they are counting pretty much every single object it detects it "counts" towards that total. Still a billion is a pretty huge number, at 24 hours a day for 365 days that would mean you have to consistenly view 1901 pages per minute! For every single minute of the year.

Haha nice number crunching there but I think 1901 pages is even beyond my realms of capability, perhaps they are counting scriplets etc. In the detailed report, it shows 13 trojans on my personal machine (perhaps I cleared some a while ago, cant remember). 9 were drive by downloads and 3 were false positive speedtest.net detections and the last was likely another false positive, a file in my iPhone backup folder (\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\) detected as Trojan.Win32.AntiFW.a
