Foto Sharing Site

Recommended Posts

I have a large amount of wedding pictures I would like to share with friends and family. About 2500 pictures, 6-8GB total. Do you know any good website that would allow to do this? If possible without payed subscriptions?

I would like something where I could possibly create albums, where guests can view the pictures and then download the ones they want. Possibly the ability to download an entire album.

I have a Gmail account, but the Photos app doesn't have the size to upload that large amount of pictures without paying extra. I could theoretically also do this via my NAS, but I have slow upload speeds, so other people would be limited to that, if they choose to download many pictures.

Many thanks!!

You just can't beat what Flickr is offering if you want to share Full resolution shots. You should also keep that in mind when uploading it somewhere. Unless you have a great upload speed, you're going to take a while to get 2500 full resolution pictures up in the "cloud".

If you consider resizing them, you could probably also make it work even with something like Dropbox (might be more favorable in terms of TOS).

You can upload them to OneDrive and then share the album via email. Invitees will get a slideshow link that will allow them to see all the pictures and you can also share the complete folder with them. It's the easiest way I can think of.

Flickr is anther alternative and some of your family/friends may find it hard to download all the photos they want at once.

Flickr = free - 1TB - full size pics - sweet

Thanks, I'll try Flickr. I think I had the wrong impression about it, hence I never really considered it, nor looked into it.

My upload isn't great, but I can upload all the pictures during a night to a site. It would just be too slow if I shared it via my NAS and people download the images one by one.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that one as well.

i have never hosted with it but from using it to view other peoples photos flickr is probably the best solution for you unless you want to go with a single use onedrive account as the gallery support is rather nice on it.

Invitees can view Flickr photos on Apple TV or any other devices with Flickr app.

For example, I viewed Guppy's photos on Apple TV... they look great.

Oh you're making me blush.
