Lenovo IBM Thinkpad S431 doesn't start

Recommended Posts

I need help with a Lenovo IBM Thinkpad S431...which I use for work after I had been locked out.  I had started it up many times after about 5 calls tech support and getting the hdd bitlocked to where even when I provided the bitlock key I was not able to log on.  So I put in anther hdd to load and something must have gone wrong because no id doesn't even start up...no sound...nothing.  At this point there's no hard drive in the Thinkpad and it doesn't do anything...even after having the charger connected.  Please help!!!

Since this a work laptop... Why are you swapping drives and the like attempting to do a restore? Wouldn't it be easier to get the IT department to replace the machine? I'm sure you can't join the laptop to the AD domain and all that stuff anyway.

You popped in another hard drive (from where ?) and are surprised when it doesnt start correctly ?  Did it already have an OS image on it ?  If so, was it from the same chipset ?

Sounds like you need to talk to an IT Manager or Tier 2 HelpDesk @ your company.

But what you are doing will probably get you in trouble if they (IT Dept) were to find out.
