Gerowen
April 6, 2014 ? The Westboro Baptist ?Church? (using the term loosely) planned a 30 minute protest for Moore, Oklahoma, at the local Central Junior High School. But about 8 minutes into the protest, the citizens of Moore ran them out of town. Good for Oklahoma. Once again, victims of tragedy are targeted Plaza Towers Elementary students have been attending the Central Junior High since last year?s deadly tornado cut a swath through the town. Many students lost their lives when their school was the target of a direct hit by the tornado. It is Westboro?s contention that God sent the disaster as punishment on the people of Moore. Gerowen
Thank God for this? They also protest soldier funerals and hold signs that say, "Thank God for dead soldiers" because America tolerates homosexuality.

Other factors aside (I know WB are a bunch of lunatics) Oklahoma is one of the more deeply Christian states in the US. If God wanted to send a message wouldn't he destroy some of the least Christian states? That said, sure they were chased out but they got exactly what they wanted...media attention. The faster people realize that ignoring them and not showing anything on the news relating to them, the faster they will be gone.

compl3x
It's people like these that make religion look ridiculous. Really? Just people like this? As obnoxious and spiteful as these idiots are they have nothing on a nut who straps a bombs to his chest, fills his pockets with ball-bearings, and detonates it on a bus killing scores of people. There are plenty of people who think god hates fags, the only difference is these imbeciles are willing to preach it in the street. True, but there are some people that have a legitimate reason to be antigay. These guys just hate gays because apparently against God's will. I'm not saying it's only these guys, I'm saying that it's whackjobs like these that make religion as a whole look like a corrupted system.

There are no legitimate reasons to hate someone for something they do that has zero affect on you. Doing so just puts you amongst the "whackjobs". What's a legitimate reason to be antigay? I think the big issue here is not neccisary being antigay, its being antigay and then compaigning like they are some sort of ferral creature that needs to be put down. It doesn't matter to me what you are, but if some people are against it because of their religious beliefs etc then so be it, but do it in a respective way. JonnyLH
To be honest, if God hated gays, why wouldn't he just destroy them? Why would he even create them in the first place? Waste of effort in my eyes. These sorts of right-wing religious groups are awful, they have no place in modern society.
