neowin1338
Hi everyone, yesterday evening I tried to install the update 1 manually using the KB Files provided by Microsoft. During the Major install of the 600MB everything worked well. After the restart my pc added some windows updates manually (2 with ~200mb) that were clearly not part of the patch day since I updated the pc in the earlier hours already with around 20 updates. the KB name was the same as the big package. After the last restart I tried to keep on installing the 3 other packages that where supposed to be manually installed but it said "This feature pack is already installed". Did the windows update install those without using the actual KB names because I didn't see them in there. Or did the dual installation method bugger everything up? I clearly have Update 1 installed due to the store icon and the power button. not sure about the other 3 updates though. IE should be updated aswell. Everything worked alright on my notebook during the day which was just manually updated by me
zhangm Supervisor Posted April 10, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted April 10, 2014 If you completed the installation of each KB (as in, not pulling the power plug during installation), then you're fine. The updater is perfectly able to handle installing some updates from a set during one session, and others in a different session.
neowin1338
No. everything went through just fine. I was just curious because I couldn't finish with the manuell KBs and it says already installed
