Office 365 in a corporate environment

Question

Hi all,

my company wants to roll out office 365 in a corporate environment. We are connected via VPN to our "ISP" which is heavily restricting in regards of communication to the internet,

What is necessary to get this to work because we cant even download the bloody software through the network and always had to unplug the panel in the server room and patch it directly into our backup line:/

we are routing international and are connected to Software as a Service.

The internet access via browser is managed by a proxy.

The main problem is that the offline suite cant be installed. Outlook was not even properly tested yet.

I know there is a list of ports but there is a range of so many ports that my admin will just slap my face :)

Ok, you can't download it through the company connection due to the proxy and you can't download the offline suite because of a lack of testing.

Looks like you have two choices: Get the users to take their laptops home and install it over their home connection - although this shouldn't be possible as they won't have administrator credentials to do the installation. Or, take a slapping from your network administrator. Sounds like you only have one option really. Give him the ports as well as the name of the person that has decided to make this business decision. He's the one that should get slapped, not you. ;)
