Transistor, The Next Game From Bastion's Creators, Is Out Next Month

Recommended Posts

Transistor?the pretty new game from the folks behind Bastion?will be out for PS4 and PC on May 20. Killer. It'll be playable at PAX East this weekend, too.

Other cool news for anyone who's into behind-the-scenes game development: last night at an NYU Game Center event, GiantBomb's Jeff Gerstmann said the folks at Supergiant Games have been filming a great deal of their work on Transistor, and that the two companies will likely team up to do video coverage soon.

Damn that came out of the blue. Feels like we've barely heard anything about it before it lands online :P

Looking forward to this and hope it's every bit as good as Bastion  Unsure what platform to buy on though..

That is quite a coincidence. Just yesterday I thought to myself, "I haven't heard anything about Transistor in a while. I wonder what's going on with that game." I'm glad to see that it's coming out soon. And it might be interesting to see the behind-the-scenes videos too. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

It could be a PS Plus, if not, I'm sure it will be discounted (but probably still cost more than the PC version).

That'd be nice but I don't think they'd do it off the bat? Would be amazing if they did another "Outlast launch".

In truth if I don't buy it on PC it'll probably end up in a HiB I buy somewhere down the line anyway. That's how I ended up with multiple copies of Bastion.

I'll wait for the PS Plus offering or a Steam sale, whichever comes first.

I've learned my lesson about buying these types of games day one, only to see them given away shortly after that.

The double edged sword of Plus :p

I think as long as a decent amount of gamers remain impatient devs won't worry that much (they still benefit from Plus deals as well). If they do a day 1 Plus discount that usually send a message as well it's NOT coming free to Plus any time soon. Right now a lot of people are waiting on Dragons Crown but month in month out it's not appearing for free - Its one of the titles that got a PS Plus release discount.

That is true, but since there are a lot of indie games floating around, I'm betting on the fact that Sony will keep pushing these games quicker to Plus, at least until there is enough retail content to offer.

I am happy to wait oh 4-6 months for a game to come to Plus considering I am always paying for it.

Everything I have seen on the game it looks great. I'm excited for it. Almost as much as hyper light drifter.
