Tidosho
Have you tried rebooting between retries? Windows Update sometimes fails for me if I have an MSI installer running as well, or if Security Essentials is updating itself in the background :( EDIT: I googled your error and came up with this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957310 Hope this helps :)

zhangm Supervisor Posted April 11, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted April 11, 2014 Run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth Then run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth If it spits out a log/error, post that too. +devHead Subscriber² Posted April 11, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted April 11, 2014 I've had the same issue. I'll take a look at the download and see if it fixes my issue, but I can't figure out why it's not working. I've never had a problem installing updates! jesseinsf
Do this: Open an elevated command prompt and type this command and click enter. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth When finished type this command and click enter: sfc /scannow Wait for it to finish then reboot and try to install again. Neyht Member Posted April 11, 2014 Member Share Posted April 11, 2014 I had to clear my windows update cache and clear some registry entries before it would let me. edit: ya know what? Do that thing posted above my post. This is what the windows update diagnostic tells me and I already have the spring update installed. That's confusing as hell. Lamp0
Mine kept failing too, I did the "sfc /scannow" then rebooted & it worked. Hum 1 Share
fpm2001
Try going to run and typing "msconfig" without the "". Click on the Services Tab and put a check mark on "hide All Microsoft Services", then select "Disable All" follow by apply and ok. It will ask you to reboot, once you get back to Windows, try to do the update again. After you do this whether it works or not, do not forget to go back and work your way back to undo the changes. I hope this help....
jesseinsf
You need to run the Dism command sfc command that I said above and then clear the Windows Update cache. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/26512-dism-fixing-component-store-corruption-windows-8-a.html
cooky560 Veteran Posted April 12, 2014 Veteran Share Posted April 12, 2014 I had the same problem, downloading the msu file directly from the MS download centre worked a treat.
