But it depends on the USB stick and if you are using USB2 or USB3. The cruzer extremes can get over 200MB/s read/write. SSDs generally are in the 500MB range. If you are using a slower USB stick on USB2 ... you might be in the 5-10MB/s range. No details in your post so hard to tell. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You guys have helped answer my question though. I'm using OpenElec on a USB stick but everything is so slow compared to the win 8 version on my SSD.
