zhangm Supervisor Posted April 14, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted April 14, 2014 (edited) What version of Windows? Do you have the installation media available? Does Safe Mode work? What AV/protection suites were you running? If you can get to Event Viewer using Safe Mode, try to dig up the record for that error message. leesmithg
Windows 7 HP x64. Installation, no. NIS2014 Can' do safe mode, if I could I would remove rollback as I believe it is that.
leesmithg
It was Rollback RX that caused the problem. However, I had to rebuild the boot files to get into Windows. All my partners doctorate work all gone. I wish she would had backed it up to a u.s.b. key, she hadn't. She is doing it all again now. So I solved this problem. I already new what is on this link here I just wrote in commands in command prompt, that worked. So it is solved.
zhangm Supervisor Posted April 14, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted April 14, 2014 I just wrote in commands in command prompt, that worked. So it is solved. So it is. I realize saying this is redundant given what happened, but if there aren't extenuating circumstances with research/confidential data, consider some kind of automated backup solution, whether syncing to the cloud or to a local network device (if it's something you can't set and forget, it is a poorly designed backup system).
