Best P2P Programs like Shareaza and Limewire?

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm trying to find a good P2P program like Limewire.

I have already tried several programs such as Ares, Limewire, GTK-Gnutella.

Some programs were slow to connect, find files and download them.

Limewire was the best of all but it no longer works

Hello MariosX,

Whilst I appreciate you may not be asking this for illigitmate reasons, I will remind everyone of the following rule;

No Illegal Software/Copyrighted Discussion.

Discussions involving warez, cracks, security circumvention, using torrents for downloading copyrighted or illegal material is strictly prohibited. This includes music files or other unauthorized software. Asking for help in doing so will cause warns or suspensions of accounts.

Whist the above it isn't directly asking for pirated material, and P2P is a valid protocol that can be used for legitimate purposes, it can also not be, please bear that in mind when posting.

Well I'm not asking for Pirated Material.

There are many files such as ebooks, music,  which are free to the public. P2P is another method of downloading them

I was gonna make a long post but....forget it.

Right now, BitTorrent is the only protocol worth using.

Please do.

Bittorrent.

No one uses those old apps. Like Limewire.

It is sounds like a troll thread  or we've gone back in time to 2000 when these apps were popular.

Please do.

Skiver already said what was needed to be said, Praetor kindly wished you happy birthday, and I told you basically what is the only protocol worth using.

You can't ask for much else from your thread :)

Not only that but this seems better fit for the software section.

You want a Bittorrent client such as uTorrent, you could say the Bittorrent protocol is the modern day Limewire.

Then the question you really what you want to be asking is: "What is the best torrent website to download torrents from?"

In answer to that here is a list of 30 Sites For Legal and Free Torrents.

I was hoping to find something that will let me find & download something  faster and instantly.

But since these are no longer used, I should forget them

I don?t think you will get easier than Torrents, the advantage here is you will find websites that specialise in anything you can think of. Plus you have quality downloads you can read comments on before downloading.

Many public / private torrent websites exist that would give you search results like LimeWire, i cant post links here due to the masses of illegal content on them also, however plently of legal specialist websites are in my post above. The only real difference is the search is done in your web browser and the download happens in the torrent client running in the background.

Basically:

  1. Search on torrent website
  2. Click download
  3. Torrent client opens and torrent downloads in the background
  4. Done

Might not be what you want to the letter, however I would be amazed if you didn't get better results when compared to Limewire.

I think there was a program recently updated that reverse engineered the Limewire and Shareaza technology called "Double Click Infection 4.5" ... I think the version 5 beta was just released last week.... as well as the version 6 alpha.

Well the more people seeding the faster it will be, provided your isp hasn't throttled it. another option is bearshare....keep in mind a good percentage of what is hosted on these p2p sites are infected.

I am using BitTorrent for years but P2P Programs were faster for downloading single files

I do not see this at all. I download single files WAY faster than I ever did using other protocols.

You might have a port blocking issue with your firewall.

BitTorrent should be faster than an old-fashioned P2P client. It's more widely used and updated. So you'd expect faster downloads as there are more peers.

You ought not be trying to support this kind of user.

You've received the correct answer. If you configure your Torrent client properly you'll get full line speed when available.

Beyond that, consider getting the content from content providers.
