The rumored and teased Just Cause 3 may be released next year by Square Enix.

Christofer Sundberg, founder and chief creative office at Avalanche Studios, lists an unannounced sandbox action game on his LinkedIn profile, purportedly created by Avalanche Studios New York and published by Square Enix. Sundberg describes the project as a "new installment in a very well-known game series. The game ... is scheduled for completion in June 2015 for next-generation console platforms."

Over a year ago, Kotaku columnist Superannuation reported that the link for the unannounced project went to the Just Cause website, which was a cute but unsubtle hint that the game is Just Cause 3. Since then, though, Sundberg has altered the link to go to Avalanche's website.

This isn't the first time Sundberg has possibly teased Just Cause 3. Early last year, the Avalanche Studios founder tweeted a couple of messages that seemed to allude to Just Cause 3, though his E3 2013 mention may have referred to the announcement of Mad Max.

For its part, Square Enix registered several web domains for Just Cause 4 in 2012, making it seem like the franchise is coming back sooner than later. Just Cause 2 was the latest release in the series, coming out in 2010, and IGN thought it was a great open-world game.
