Probable Culprit Of IRQL_Less_or_Equal In WinXP

Recommended Posts

That error is caused by Detonator video drivers on some Via motherboards. It has nothing to do with Black Ice software. I have been getting it on my second machine, and I never had black ice installed on mine.

The detonator drivers are perfectly fine in XP.. It's the VIA chipset drivers.. There was a patch for it floating around.. Also.. The BlackICE problem that people have been having, it affects EVERYONE running previous versions of BlackICE other then the updated version in the post above.. Seperate probs.. If your not runnning blackice and your getting a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen, thats a totally different issue.. Most likely VIA.. :)

That is a blackice issue also and will be fixed in the next patch. They are aware of it.. If ya do a scandisk at startup when the blue screen comes up at bootup, you WILL notice a few files truncated.. :( At least NetworkIce is up to fixing their probs.. Unlike Canon who DOESN'T support XP and I am ****ed! Got a Canon BJC-5100 printer and I need to use 2K drivers that crash.. :dead: Ack..
