I?m usually upbeat but I?m on one today?

People with large egos or power on these site get ruthless. They have something to protect. Maybe they don?t actually like dealing with people in real life or virtually.

Antisocials running social sites.

From what I?ve seen they don?t show a lot of tact ? especially to marketers (thanks to the marketers who spam who we all pay penance for). They ban people. They seem to feel everything should be done out of the goodness of your heart ? failing to recognize that people who contribute have a reason to. Even if that reason is for fame or the exposure of their ideas (something I know a lot about!). If you get banned from these communities (heck, even if you get banned from Google) forget democracy because you have little recourse. Unless you?re lucky (which I was once ? I was banned from AdSense when I was new. I was kicked off of Commission Junction for not making any commissions in 6 months ? but they let me back on and I have made money ever since). To me they act like you should be put in prision for breaking one of their rules. And the rules are paragraphs and paragraphs that no one ever reads.

Sounds like the kind of imbecile who argues their free speech is being impinged because they are banned from a service for spewing racist/homophobic/sexist remarks.

If I'm following this correctly, she's upset because she was getting kicked off forums for marketing.

 

There's a fine line between subtly mentioning your product in proper context and spamming a forum.

 

Times like this, I like to drink an ice cold Coke and relax, because Coca Cola products are the best.  :shifty:

It is a bit old and of outdated, it still has good remarks to discuss why majority hate forums 56%, blindly attacking her spam or add etc. is ignoring some realities of the forums.

Well that was an incoherent rant if I ever saw one. Don't like a community, leave it and find one that fits you better. Hang out with people you feel good with; that holds true wherever you are. Internet forums are just a means of communication; don't blame the medium for the actions of those that use it.

I've found neowin to be great, minus once I asked about a site being down, and got in trouble , they said " We don't support other sites"  and deleted it I believe .... however that was a while ago ...
