Xbox One Production Could Temporarily Cease

Recommended Posts

I don't know if the same reasons exist on the PS4, but right now there is no reason to buy an XB1, there just aren't the games. The console has had it initial hype buy and I would expect it to calm down. Once some better titles start coming out we might see a pickup again but I just haven't seen a game im interested in coming in the next few months, and certainly not any that are exclusive.

The PS4 (and for that matter any new console) also has a lack of AAA games - has loads of digital content though. I saw something the other day that showed the PS4 has more games available right now, and has more available over the coming months.

Says it all really.

Thats what happens when you launch in a small amount of countries compared to the competition... btw theres plenty of unsold PS4's in the UK... MS screwed up. It was prolly cus of the voice software, wasnt ready for more languages which is a bad oversight

Xbox One voice software wasn't ready for English-UK?

Neither the PS4 or Xbox One have a impressive game list right now, but with that being said the PS4 has over 180+ titles confirmed to be coming to the PS4 while the Xbox One has about 100. And like you said your more interested in the multiplatform games rather than exclusives and the PS4 being the more powerful system runs multiplatform games with better graphics compared to the Xbox One.

I don't really check the digital store side, partly because its a horrible unorganised mess, but I don't believe the XB1 has any hidden gems. Unfortuantely I seem to be going through a personal hatred of pretty much any big title that is announced also, and I've actually starting to pay more attention to smaller indie games on PC that bring a lot of new gameplay to the table.

The PSN, thankfully, isn't a mess for digital stuff - my only issue is that the UK store is far worse than the US store. Something that really irks me and has done since PS3. Sony sell more in Europe and the UK yet we get treated like 3rd world customers. Same with pricing, but that's for another day lol.

I too am a massive fan of indie titles - they really are the AAA games of tomorrow, today. My Vita is loaded up with quite a few, as is my PS3/4.

I hope Microsoft refresh Xbox One into Xbox One (Second Generation) with small console, faster chips and better graphic for $359 or $399.

The internals of the hardware aren't going to change. What is in the xbox one right now will remain in there, unchanged(aside from potential die shrinks), until this generation ends around 2020.

Xbox One voice software wasn't ready for English-UK?

It was released in 13 countries instead of 26 or however many PS4 was released is was cus i think the voice software for kinect wasnt ready for those languages... thats the one of the main reasons it was so hard to buy a PS4 they way over released it straining with demand but creates an artificial shortage and ppl want what they cant have MS should of released it in over 20 countries. Think the voice software was the main reason why, maybe other reasons to but they under released it so plenty stocked up and no where to go

Microsoft should know that their customer based better. Why ship a motion gaming addon to a some lazy ass console gamers? Microsoft itself seems confused as to what it wants to do with it.

Microsoft released the Xbox One in all the major markets, releasing in the remaining regions isn't going to effect sales much. An artificial shortage is a fake shortage created to make a product look popular, Sony didn't do that because the demand was there to put the PS4 out of stock cause every man and their dog wanted one when it was released and you couldn't pick one up without a pre-order from months back. The regions that the PS4 sold the most consoles; US, UK, Aus, Canada, etc are the same regions that the Xbox One is released in. Compare the console sales in the regions that both are released in.

Guess they didnt make it attractive enough then and the stuff at last years E3 didnt help. Would of bin good to see what would of happened if sony went first see what they had to say and see if that 350MB patch was removing some of the DRM they apparently didnt have

its pretty funny the amount of people acting like this is a big deal.  This is something every product does at certain times of the year.  Its only "news" because the internet has deemed it popular to post anything that could seem negative about xbox even when its something you can bet sony is doing too.

The initial Xbox One patch was to remove the DRM they initially had after the huge backlash prior to release, they announced it.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/10/25/ps4-system-software-update-1-50-details/

Added a bunch of features.

Unlike the Xbox One you didn't need to download it to use the PS4 and the download could run in the background if you were connected to the internet while using/playing on the PS4.

For the record, that was not all it did.

But hey, that is the focus on everyone's mind, so it was clearly the standout part of it.

Sony handled it much better.

Looks like you couldn't play online without the patch. So not just some bunch of features.

here are the real statements without the sensationalism

"Xbox One has sold in over 5 million units since launch and engagement has been high with users spending nearly 5 hours per day on their console," said Hoot. "We will continue to extend the unique entertainment value proposition of Xbox One, particularly in markets outside of the U.S. where some services aren?t as mature.

?Xbox 360 sales exceeded our expectations this quarter. And across the platform, Xbox Live members continued to embrace the service with transactional revenue growing 17%. We do expect to work through some inventory in Q4.

"Devices and Consumer licensing, we expect [Q4] revenue to be $4.1 billion to $4.3 billion. In hardware, we expect revenue to be $1.3 billion to $1.5 billion in what is a seasonally slower hardware quarter.

"This number also reflects channel inventory drawdown for Xbox consoles. In devices and consumer other, we expect revenue to be about $1.9 billion."

Weaker hardware for a significantly higher price than the ps4

Worse multiplatform titles due to that hardware

Kinect whether you want it or not

No worthwhile exclusive titles for nearly the whole year before, maybe, the fall season

The damage microsoft did to themselves with their mess of a reveal

Those could be a few things.

1. Fair

2. Fair for now but not as big of a deal in reality as it is on paper.

3. Not required to be connected, so I guess you are talking about price. If they sold the Xbox One for $399, would you still complain about the Kinect if they're essentially including it for free?

4. Opinion, not fact.

5. This is probably the biggest culprit, besides price.
