xtrabit racing
The benchmarks say exactly the opposite on just about all of your claims. CPU performance is considerably better on an i3 than this. Power consumption under heavy load will be almost double than on an i3. And that will equate to more heat. The A10-7850K is rated at 95W. An i3-4340 is rated at 54W. AMD has always been known to be power hungry, so it's no secret or anything. A 250W PSU is sufficient for basically any PC without a discreet GPU. Moot point. Just getting the facts straight, no offense. Considering that APU has a pretty decent GPU onboard, power consumption looks way better. Overall performance is very good, unless you need heavy loads. At home using i5 3570K@4700mhz, on daily use i can hardly find a difference. A10's advantage is GPU.
AnotherITguy
I would say, skip the onboard graphics, and shoot for an R7 265.
Roberticus
I have also been thinking about making an ITX box with that APU. As for performance you can check this dudes youtube playlist:http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg_NS9IVBuhqpsn7N8RrP_qJMsZu7qKh8 He tests many different games in different settings and the description below shows Min, Max and Average fps. xboxfan50
Hi, everyone thanks for all your responses. Decided to postpone doing this for now as the cost of the build would be much higher than I had originally thought and had trouble finding a decent nano PSU. gohpep
Thanks for the responses so far everyone! :) I probably should have mentioned this in the original post. What I wanted to do was build a quiet, small and fast/powerful PC, but nothing too expensive. I want to do some decent gaming on it as well as other tasks such as programming. What is your budget? xboxfan50
What is your budget? I'd have liked to spend around ?350-?400 max. I've looked around online and just couldn't keep it cheap. :(
xboxfan50
Really want to to this again now. Hmm.

Thanks for this, but not really the exact build I was looking for. I was hoping to use a A10 7850k which is a quad core to future proof a bit and have an SSD, aswell as a smaller case. My mane problem is finding a correct nano/pico psu that will be able to power this build.
