okisurrender
I bought an APU for the first time the other day and just now was able to get my system up and booting. In BIOS settings it says it's running at 54/55 ?C. Is this normal? I've never had an APU before and have zero experience in dealing with them, so I really have no idea. It just seems high for the system to literally be idling. Oh yeah, it's an A6 6400K Black Edition btw.

If it goes above 65 there's more cause for concern...in which case you can probably change the system fan profile in the BIOS.
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted May 3, 2014 Moderator Share Posted May 3, 2014 Get a third party cooler, and your temps will improve. That is a bit hot for idle temps, but not dangerous.
HoochieMamma
Perfectly normal. Remember, there is a graphics card in that CPU too!

okisurrender
Pfew. Thanks for the responses guys. I'll definitely invest in a third-party cooler when I get a little spare cash.
