You can expect to see apps that run on both pretty soon though. Also, Windows Phone and Windows RT are different operating systems, they aren't the same. Guest Posted May 7, 2014 Share Posted May 7, 2014 The Windows Runtime is now almost 100% the same across all Windows platforms, x86, Windows ARM, Windows Phone. It is up to developers to use the same code base for their apps. One develops a common code base and then just creates platform-specific user interfaces that connect to that common code base. In a sense, you have your business logic shared across the versions of your app, you just create a platform-specific UI if needed, else you just use the built-in controls which for most cases should be enough... assuming using them makes sense. Examples of such apps are the Bing apps, Remote Desktop, some of the games, Halo Spartan Assault... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If they want to have 2 why not jus have Windows Phone and RT be the same thing? Like android phone OS is the same as the tablet OS and can run all the same apps. Seems more simple.
